Percentage of Marks Calculator

Turn your marks into a percentage, or find what you need to reach a target.

Percentage of marks

A percentage is your obtained marks as a share of the total marks, multiplied by 100. Enter each subject’s obtained and total marks, and the calculator adds them up and gives the overall percentage. You can use it for Matric, intermediate, university or any other exam.

Example

Six papers of 100 marks each, with scores of 78, 85, 72, 90, 66 and 81, give 472 out of 600. That is 78.67%.

Reaching a target

The second tab works backwards. If you have 480 out of 600 and the remaining papers are worth 500 marks, reaching 80% overall means scoring at least 400 more, which is 80% in those papers (80% of 1,100 is 880, minus 480). Grade boundaries, such as A1 or A+, differ between boards, so check your board’s grading scheme.
