GPA Calculator
Work out your GPA from your grades and credits.
How GPA is calculated
Each letter grade is worth grade points, for example A = 4.0 and B = 3.0. Multiply each course’s grade points by its credits to get quality points, add them up, and divide by the total credits.
Example
Four courses: A (4.0) × 3 credits = 12, A− (3.7) × 3 = 11.1, B+ (3.3) × 4 = 13.2, and B (3.0) × 3 = 9. The total is 45.3 quality points over 13 credits, so the GPA is about 3.48.
Check your school’s scale
Schools use slightly different scales, and some give extra weight to honours courses or use a different maximum. Use the numbers from your own school’s grading policy for official results. Leave unused rows empty.
Frequently asked questions
Do all courses count equally?
No. Courses with more credits count more, because their quality points are multiplied by the credits.
How do I work out a cumulative GPA?
Enter all of your courses from every term, or add up the quality points and credits from each term and divide.
