MDCAT Aggregate Calculator
Work out your MBBS and BDS merit aggregate, or the MDCAT score you need for a target.
How the MDCAT merit is built
For admission to MBBS and BDS programmes, the widely used PMDC formula gives 10% weight to Matric, 40% to FSc (or equivalent) and 50% to the MDCAT. Each part is turned into a percentage first, then weighted.
Example
Matric 950 out of 1,100 gives 8.64 points. FSc 1,020 out of 1,100 gives 37.09 points. MDCAT 150 out of 180 gives 41.67 points. The aggregate is about 87.39%.
Check your own admission rules
- Admitting bodies such as UHS, DUHS, KMU and NUMS publish their own notices each year. NUMS has its own entry test with its own total.
- The MDCAT total has been 200 in some years and 180 in 2026, so check the total for your session.
- Domicile quotas, reserved seats and cut-offs differ by province and year, and this tool does not model them.
Use the second tab to see how many MDCAT marks you need to reach a target aggregate.
Frequently asked questions
Do Matric marks count?
Under the common PMDC formula, yes, for 10%. Check your admitting university's current policy.
What is a good aggregate?
It varies by university, seat type and year. Look at last year's closing merit for the college you want, then add a safety margin.
