Zakat Calculator Pakistan

Calculate zakat at 2.5% on your savings, gold, silver and other wealth.

How zakat is worked out

Zakat is 2.5% of your net zakatable wealth once it reaches the nisab and you have held it for a full lunar year. The nisab is the value of 52.5 tola of silver (612.36 g) or 7.5 tola of gold (87.48 g). Most people in Pakistan follow the Hanafi view and use the silver nisab, because it is lower, but you should follow the guidance of your own scholar.

What to include

  • Cash, bank balances and savings
  • Gold and silver, including jewellery, at today’s market price
  • Investments, shares, mutual funds and savings certificates
  • Business stock held for sale and money owed to you that you expect to receive
  • Minus debts that are due now

Example

Rs 200,000 in cash, Rs 500,000 in the bank and 5 tola of gold at Rs 434,500 a tola make Rs 2,872,500. After Rs 100,000 of debts, net wealth is Rs 2,772,500. That is above the silver nisab of about Rs 361,700, so zakat is 2.5%, or about Rs 69,300. The gold and silver prices shown are examples, so enter today’s.

Bank deductions and the official nisab

For the government’s automatic deduction on bank accounts on the first of Ramadan, the nisab announced for 2026 was Rs 503,529. That deduction covers only your bank deposits, so you still need to calculate zakat on gold, cash and other wealth yourself. This tool gives a general guide and is not a religious ruling, so speak with a qualified scholar if you are unsure.

Frequently asked questions

Is zakat due on jewellery?

Scholars differ on jewellery worn for personal use. The Hanafi view is that it is zakatable, which is why it is included here. Ask your scholar.

Which nisab should I choose?

Many Pakistanis use silver, which is lower. Others use gold. If you hold a mixture of assets, many scholars advise using the silver nisab.
