Calculate the price of gold for any weight and karat, including making charges.
How gold is priced in Pakistan
Gold in Pakistan is quoted per tola for 24-karat gold. To price jewellery, you scale that rate to the weight you have and to its purity. Lower karats contain less pure gold, so they cost proportionally less per gram.
Weights and purities
- 1 tola = 11.664 grams = 12 masha = 96 ratti
- 1 masha = 0.972 grams and 1 ratti = 0.1215 grams
- 24K is pure gold, 22K is about 91.7% pure, 21K is 87.5% and 18K is 75%
Example
At Rs 434,500 for a tola of 24K gold, 5 tola of 24K is worth Rs 2,172,500. The same weight in 22K is worth about Rs 1,991,500. Jewellers add making charges or wastage on top, so enter your jeweller’s percentage to see the final cost.
