Dew Point Calculator
Find the temperature at which dew forms.
Where dew forms
The dew point is the temperature to which air must cool before it becomes saturated and dew or fog forms. A higher dew point means more moisture in the air and a muggier feel, regardless of the temperature.
Example
On the first tab (°c) with the starting values shown (Air temperature 25 °C; Relative humidity 60 %), Dew point comes out as 16.7. Other results include in °f: 62; how it feels: A bit humid.
A dew point under about 10 °C (50 °F) feels dry, and above about 21 °C (70 °F) feels oppressive. The formula is accurate for temperatures from about −45 °C to 60 °C.
Frequently asked questions
Is dew point better than humidity?
For comfort, often yes. Relative humidity changes with temperature, but the dew point shows the actual moisture in the air.
What happens when the temperature falls to the dew point?
Dew, frost or fog forms.
