Find all the factors that two or more numbers share.
Factors that are shared
A common factor of several numbers is a number that divides every one of them exactly. The largest is the greatest common factor (GCF), and every other common factor divides the GCF.
Example
With the starting values shown (Numbers 36, 48, 60), Common factors comes out as 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12. Other results include greatest common factor: 12; how many: 6.
Common factors are used to simplify fractions: divide the top and bottom by a common factor. To get the least common multiple as well, use the GCF and LCM calculator.
