Commission Calculator
Calculate sales commission and total pay, including a higher rate above quota.
Tiered commission
Many sales jobs pay a base commission rate up to a quota and a higher rate on sales beyond it. Enter your sales, your quota and the two rates, and the calculator splits the commission between the two tiers.
Example
Sales of 150,000 with a 100,000 quota, 5% up to the quota and 8% above it, give 5,000 plus 4,000, so a commission of 9,000. With 2,000 of base pay the total is 11,000, an effective commission rate of 6%.
For a flat rate, set both rates the same. Some plans also pay on profit rather than sales, claw back commission on returns, or use several tiers, which this tool does not model, so check your plan’s terms.
